The Joseph Public Library is a vital part of our community serving as a center for information, cultural programming, and entertainment.
The Joseph Public Library offers numerous services including:
- Current magazines, newspapers, fiction and non-fiction videos and books on tape
- Reference Services
- Sage Library System collections through Inter-Library Loans
- GALE Online Databases
- Joseph Library PlinkIt Web Site
- Friends of the Joseph Public Library Facebook page
- After School Programs
- Copy and DVD cleaning services for a nominal fee

- Up, Up, and Away Fall Reading Program
In addition to public funding the library is supported by two local organizations - The Friends of the Joseph Public Library and the Wallowa Valley Library Foundation.
Friends of the Library provides support through fund raisers and project assistance. The group meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 6PM at the library.
The library is administered by the Joseph Library Board consisting of up to seven Joseph citizens. The board meets the first Thursday of each month at 4PM in the library.
Up, Up, and Away
Fall Reading Program
Starts in October and includes an after school program for grades first through sixth. Activities include story telling, songs, crafts, and games. This very popular program has included up to 30 children.

Summer Reading Program
Starts in mid June and spans five weeks with stories, crafts, and treats for first through fourth grade students.

June Book Sale
Held the same week-end as the Oregon Mountain Cruise in the parking lot adjacent to the library.
